MADEIRA RADON WEEK

If you have never been to Funchal, don’t miss the opportunity to join work and tourism in the Pearl of the Atlantic.

The Regional Directorate of Environment and Climate Action (DRAAC) from the Autonomous Region of Madeira (RAM) and the Portuguese Environment Agency (APA), in collaboration with the European Radon Association (ERA) invites you to the Madeira Radon Week (MRnW).

This conference is dedicated to radon prevention and mitigation measures in new and existing buildings with an emphasis on specific conditions i.e. waterworks, etc.

From October 7th to 10th, you will have the chance to participate in the 2024 ERA Workshop and in the ROOMS 2024 (Radon Outcomes on Mitigation Solutions), both in Funchal, Madeira Island, voted “World’s Leading Island Destination” every year, since 2015.

You will be able to taste the local food and drinks, experience whale watching, and discuss the latest outcomes in the radon field

Conference dedicated to national and international scientific community members, radon testers, diagnosticians, mitigators, educators, public stakeholders, business people and Authorities.

ROOMS is an informal workshop that aims to exchange information on solutions to radon problems in buildings. The main topics are:

Building protection measurements: prevention, diagnosis, remediation

Radon remediation in specific conditions: waterworks, special workplaces, public buildings

03

Impact of changes in building techniques or energy retrofit: low-energy building, etc.
